February 2016 Popsugar Review

This month's box, in all of its glory!

I am a well-intentioned blogger. I promise, I am.  I intend to write about everything, to drop witticisms on the internet faster than a bomb-dropping plane dropping bombs (see? you are welcome)…but sometimes I’m just lazy.  Instead of writing blog entries, I hole up on the couch and watch old seasons of Real Housewives (currently? Real Housewives of New York.  I’m on season two. I’m obsessed.  I LOVE JILL ZARIN. I LOVE BETHENNY. I HATE KELLY BENSIMON. I LOVE SCREAMING.) Unfortunately, my Popsugar box has always gotten the short end of the stick.  I never write about it.  Well, that ends today.  Ladies and gentlemen, let’s dive into the contents of the February box, shall we?

I like to wear this with gray jeans. And a gray tank top. And a gray tunic. You get the idea.

Tilo Heart Print Scarf-$125.00
Let’s preface this with the fact that I very much love this scarf.  I’ve worn it half a dozen times already.  It’s soft, it’s cute, and I have a thing for gray clothing. But, for realsies though…who would pay over one cool Benjamin for this scarf? Not I, said the girl who got it in a subscription box.

Modern Luxury in a jar. Not their tagline, but it should be.

Beautycounter Nourishing Cleansing Balm-$50.00
Very luxurious.  I’ve used it twice now, and it hasn’t broken me out, so I am cautiously optimistic that this will be a face product I can stand behind.

My FCC ring finger modeling the goods.

JewelryStorm Endless Arrow Ring-$28.00
I love this ring! It is pretty small right out of the box, but you can stretch it to fit your fat fingers if need be (no judgement on the fat fingers…I’m a card-carrying member of the FFC—Fat Finger Committee). I’ve only worn it three or four times, and already the bottom portion is getting that weird “I’m not real gold so I am going to look like a coppery brass material” vibe…does anyone know what causes that? Or how I could fix it? Please let me know.

Home for wayward lip balms.

Fringe Studio Hello Beautiful Square Tray-$14.00
Ugh. This is so cute. I love it.  I’m not quite sure I needed it, butI have it on my nightstand with all of my nightly lip balms displayed (I’m quite the alarmist when my lips are chapped. I can handle the sensation for about 21 seconds before I need to slather on the balm).

What should REALLY be here is a .gif of my fist pump party in my fanny pack.

Victoria’s Secret Coconut Milk Hydrating Body Lotion+$20 Gift Card+Sport Socks-$43.00
Lotion: Love it.  Gorgeous, light scent.  It has a pump, which I love on a lotion.  It’s also extremely hydrating—arguably, the most important quality in a lotion. Perhaps I should have led with that…
Gift card: I used the card to buy some bras.  Mostly because I hate buying bras, but I realized that I really, really needed some. Pink bras were two for $45.00, so then I got two bras for $25.00, and since I bought items from the Pink line, I received, get this, a FREE FANNY PACK.  You think the excitement stops there? No, my friend.  I opened my free fanny pack when I got home only to find that inside the fanny pack was a drink koozie. Not just any koozie…oh no, this one has a lanyard.  So you can wear your drink AROUND YOUR NECK.  Naturally, I put on my drink koozie, my fanny pack, and some house music…then I started fist-pumping like a maniac.  My summer is going to be full of a lot of hands-free partying.
Socks: Very practical. I’d like to think that someone’s grandma suggested they be thrown into this month’s box.

Yum.

Foodstirs Heart Cookie Mix-$12.95
I still have yet to make these cookies, but they look delish. I love when Popsugar includes food items in our subscription boxes.

Verdict: This was a great box!  One of the best ones I’ve received from Popsugar, ever. One March spoiler has been released (a watch), so we will see what this month has to offer.
